Cecily A. Harris
Cecily A. Harris’ practice focuses on all aspects of real estate, both from litigation and transactional standpoints. As a litigator, Cecily handles complex commercial litigation matters which include: contract disputes; actions for specific performance; construction claims and property damage; mechanic’s liens; and tax disputes. Cecily also represents lenders in commercial and residential foreclosure actions. In addition, Cecily regularly litigates commercial and residential landlord-tenant disputes, which include both non-payment proceedings and holdover proceedings. Cecily has experience litigating holdover proceedings predicated on tenancy termination, breach of lease, owner’s use, illegal subletting, and non-primary residence, as well as litigating actions for “Yellowstone” injunctive relief.
On the transactional side, Cecily represents parties in complex real estate contracts, lease negotiations, and handles all types of real estate closings, ranging from single-family home closings to large commercial closings. Cecily additionally conducts refinancing transactions on behalf of lenders and borrowers.
Cecily graduated summa cum laude from Hunter College in 2000 with a degree in Sociology. In 2003, she received her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School where she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and the recipient of the Lisle Merit Scholarship.
